Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announces 5th tranche for "Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan"
Economic Relief Package for Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan:
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the details of the 5th tranche, a part of 20 lakh crore package earlier announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji.
This package is about the objective of making India self-reliant.
Following are some of the measures taken by GoI:-
Allocation for MGNREGS:- The government decided to allocate Rs.40000 crore under MGNREGS which will help create 300 crore person days of work. This will ensure returning migrant workers to work in Monsoon season as well. Hence it is expected to boost the rural economy.
Providing Technology for education:-
"Diksha Program"- It will provide one nation, one digital platform for school goers in all states and Union Territories. Use of radio,podcasts, and television will play a pivotal role in providing education to students sitting at home. Special content will also be provided to visually and hearing challenged students.
The govt. has permitted top universities to commence their online courses by 30 May 2020.
"Manodarpan"- It is an initiative launched to provide psychological support to students, teachers, and families for their mental and emotional health.
